Good art
show
Art critics
have poured praise on the latest exhibition from the good fairy - even
before they've seen the works in question. Cuh!
Dozens of
drawings, monoprints and 3-D sculptures go on show from 23 June this
year at Stoke Newington's Vortex Gallery in a show called "The
spider inside her. Inklings & songs from the Good Book".
The critics
have history on their side. The good fairy's previous show drew gobsmacked
responses from all over the place. Such as: ‘Venezuelan-folk-art-mambo-nightmare.
Bloody brilliant!’ ‘Unique, uplifting, unbelievable’ ‘My name is Charlene,
my age is 7’ ‘Mesmeric’ ‘If only the rest of life was like this fantastic
exhibition’ ‘Fab. Fancy decorating a Marina 1000 roof?’ ‘Overwhelming,
witty and funky’ ‘Where’s the bog?’ Not bad for a first show.
The new show
at the Vortex features a tightly knit series of black and white ink
drawings and monoprints depicting life in the shadow of tall buildings
and complicated transport arrangements.
Some of the
pictures, which the good fairy says she did "standing up with a
thin pen" also appear in the brand new book of songs and drawings
being launched by diego brown and the good fairy in June The
Good Book. Featuring Mr Shouty and other scary tales observed and set
down by diego brown and the good fairy.
