"HABEMUS GIGUM"
It was the last thing even their own fans expected. Coming so soon after the general election and so near to the naming of a new pope, the return of diego brown and the good fairy to real live gigging came like a new pair of pants on a warm day in spring.
News that the “brown dudes” would be appearing at a totally secret location (The Lark in the Park, 60 Copenhagen St, London N1) in the UK’s big capital on 12 May had the Met office scurrying to its pie charts to check the likelihood of drizzle on that day. “A small amount of rain probably wouldn’t spoil things for the many fans who can be expected to wait for weeks outside the venue just screaming and screaming til they’re sick. But we are a bit concerned that the singing siblings will stay at home and write another song about rain if there’s so much as a hint of it in the air,” said a weather woman slowly.
Then, speeding up, she recited Chapter 1 of The Good Book, the collected works of the Good Two.
You see it’s not just us.
[Subeditor, please make something up for the next para. I’m parched and off for a shandy, can’t be arsed to write the last bit. Go on you’ve always wanted my job anyway.]
Twelve and a half days ago smoke was seen to be rising from a small shed near the A1, indicating that a small fire had been lit. Shortly afterwards diego brown itself made the following statement via a voice activated mouth.
“We’re back. Thanks for waiting. Now let’s rock.” The place went mental. Lawnmowers eveywhere, half-eaten tins of slug pellets
cascaded from shelves. But amid the chaos a small calm voice continued to give out some basic details about the time and place. They can be summarised as follows: “diego brown and the good fairy would like to see you all at the Lark in the Park on Thursday 12 May at about 8pm.” [How was that?]
